This arrondissement is a real bohemian pearl and the hills have been around since the prehistoric days, and used to be the home of painters, writers and artists to live in and drew inspiration from the area. Many have made their mark here, including: Salvador Dalí, Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh and living here you sometimes feel like you’re part of the postcard Paris. It has a village-like vibe and is also the area where you’ll find part of the red-light district next door to the Moulin Rouge and hip nightlife. The area attracts a lot of tourists as the white iconic Sacre Coeur church is located here.
