Shaped like a butterfly, this is the “in between” district with prestigious boulevards in the south, cultural history and French modern life. With a little bit of shopping and nightlife on Grands Boulevard, performances at Opéra Garnier, and the red-light district of Pigalle, that is nowadays a hip place filled with nightlife. The streets around St. Lazare used to be the Parisian central for Impressionists. Today, the early 19th-century architecture and lovely courtyards have discreetly preserved.
